Alberta’s stories, landscapes, and creative voices take centre stage in Love Letters to Alberta — and Alberta Senior Living is giving readers the chance to experience it live.

We’re giving away tickets to the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra’s New Music concert, Love Letters to Alberta, happening Friday, February 20, 2026 at 8 p.m. at the Winspear Centre in Edmonton MR Love Letters to Alberta.

Curated and conducted by ESO Music Director Jean-Marie Zeitouni, this special evening celebrates composers with deep connections to Alberta, featuring music inspired by land, memory, imagination, and place. The program spans three generations of composers and includes both world premieres and ESO premieres, offering a moving and contemporary portrait of Alberta’s creative spirit MR Love Letters to Alberta.

Highlights of the evening include two world premieres:

  • Amiskkwacîwâskahikan by Cree composer Cris Derksen, blending Indigenous traditions with modern orchestral sound

  • For the Star Chasers by emerging composer Annika Schoenhardt, presented through the ESO’s Young Composers Project MR Love Letters to Alberta

The concert also features works that explore natural phenomena, playfulness, and reflection from acclaimed composers including John Estacio, Allan Gordon Bell, Joel Toews, Vivian Fung, and Zosha Di Castri MR Love Letters to Alberta.
