Celebrate the end of summer with a bus trip to the 14-acre Stony Plain & Parkland Museum, where you can step back in time and explore Alberta’s rich history.   • September 19 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Scenic Acres Community Association in Calgary: Repair Café. Help keep valuable items out of the landfill and support community sustainability by giving broken items a second life. Bring your “this just needs a small fix” items and work alongside volunteers to troubleshoot and repair them. Services include knife, scissor and garden tool sharpening, clothing and sewing repairs, bike repairs, quilt fabric exchange, small appliance repairs and jewelry repairs. Knife and tool sharpening is by appointment, with fees set by the vendor. Volunteers with repair skills are also welcome to share their talents and help neighbours learn how to fix things. Everyone is welcome; come connect with your community and help make repair the first choice instead of disposal!
