Letter from Assisted Living Alberta’s Acting CEO, Toby Schneider

As we mark Alberta’s 40th anniversary of Seniors’ Week, June 1 - 7, 2026, I want to take a moment to express deep appreciation for the contributions you have made to communities across the province.

This week is a meaningful reminder of the role seniors play in enhancing the quality of life of all Albertans. You are mentors, storytellers, and community builders; the hands and hearts weaving the vibrant tapestry that is the fabric of Alberta. Your stories carry the wisdom of where we’ve been and guide the vision of where we’re going. Your insights have been critical in helping Assisted Living Alberta build a better healthcare system for present and future generations, and for that, we are grateful.

As we celebrate this week at ALA, we reaffirm our commitment to ensuring older adults across the province have consistent care that supports living and aging with dignity, with the services that are right for you. We thank each of you for the connection and sense of belonging you foster, wherever you call home, and we deeply appreciate the ongoing role you play in shaping the future of Alberta and ALA.

We hope you take a moment to celebrate the lasting foundations you have created and the ways you continue to strengthen our communities.

Happy Seniors Week to you all!

Assisted Living Alberta’s Acting CEO, Toby Schneider
